New Zealand Rugby League is a not-for-profit national sports organisation responsible for rugby league from grassroots to Kiwis, charged with the growth, development and delivery of the game of rugby league in New Zealand.
In addition to the New Zealand Kiwis, the New Zealand national men’s team, the Kiwi Ferns, the women’s national team and the Junior Kiwis, NZRL manages a number of elite youth teams including the NZ 16s, NZ 18s, the Taurahere and National Secondary Schools.
NZRL delivers a number of annual tournaments including the award winning National Secondary Schools tournament, the National Women’s and Youth tournaments and at Premier Grade the National Premiership and National Championship.

The New Zealand Rugby League website is designed to be the main authority for rugby related content in New Zealand and showcase New Zealand Kiwis, the New Zealand national men’s team, the Kiwi Ferns, the women’s national team, Junior Kiwis, a number of elite youth teams including the NZ 16s, NZ 18s, the Taurahere and National Secondary Schools with the aim of delivering better outcomes for the wider community.
The Challenge
How do you create a home for all New Zealand rugby content and fulfill sponsorship requirements, but still provide a pleasing digital experience? The New Zealand Rugby League website needed to prioritise ease of use for users, administrators and allow content to be easily discoverable across diverse digital touchpoints.
